Nepal Family Tour - 9 Days (Tour, Raft, Wildlife & Hike)

Your journey begins with arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, where our representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you may take some time to relax from your flight. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore nearby streets, try Nepali cuisine, or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu. After breakfast, your family will enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage destination. The day starts with a visit to Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, which offers panoramic views of the valley and is exciting for children because of the monkeys that live around the stupa. Next, we explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to ancient temples, palaces, and the living goddess Kumari’s residence, making it a fascinating cultural stop. To make this day kid-friendly, we also visit the National Zoo, where children will love spotting animals and birds, creating a fun learning experience alongside cultural exploration. After a full day of sightseeing, we return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Today we leave Kathmandu after breakfast and drive towards Trishuli River, one of Nepal’s most popular rafting rivers. The drive takes about 3 hours (approx. 80 km) through scenic landscapes of hills, rivers, and villages. Upon reaching Fishling, we begin our family rafting trip. The rafting section from Fishling to River Fun Beach Resort is safe for families, with gentle Class II–III rapids that are thrilling yet suitable for beginners and children.

The highlight of this day is the stay at River Fun Beach Resort, a mini-paradise for families. The resort offers comfortable riverside rooms and cottages, a swimming pool, water park, zipline, sky rope cycling, speed motor boating, canopy walk, climbing wall, hammocks, sandy beaches, and campfire evenings. Kids can play safely while parents enjoy riverside relaxation. The combination of soft adventure and a resort stay makes this one of the most memorable parts of the Nepal family tour. After breakfast at the resort, we drive to Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its rich wildlife. The distance from River Fun Beach Resort to Chitwan is about 60 km and takes 1.5–2 hours by car. Upon arrival, we check into a comfortable jungle lodge or hotel. After lunch, we begin our first jungle activity: a jeep safari inside Chitwan National Park. This adventure gives your family a chance to spot endangered animals like the one-horned rhinoceros, deer, wild boar, and possibly the elusive Bengal tiger.

Later in the evening, we enjoy a village walk through the Tharu community, where children will be fascinated by the traditional lifestyle of locals. Birdwatching opportunities are abundant, making it both educational and fun for families. Overnight stay at a hotel in Chitwan with lunch and dinner included.

We begin the day with breakfast followed by a canyon ride (canoe ride) on the Rapti River. This calm ride allows you to spot crocodiles basking on the banks and exotic birds flying overhead, making it an exciting activity for children. Afterward, we visit the Elephant Breeding Center, where kids can learn about elephant conservation and watch baby elephants.

After lunch at the hotel, we leave for Pokhara, a drive of about 150 km, taking 5–6 hours through scenic hills and river valleys. The road trip is important because driving gives families flexibility to stop for photos, snacks, and breaks, unlike a flight. Upon arrival in Pokhara, we check in at the hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening strolling around Lakeside, a vibrant tourist hub filled with cafes, shops, and a peaceful lakeshore. After breakfast, we explore some of Pokhara’s top attractions. We begin with boating on Phewa Lake, where families can paddle to the Tal Barahi Temple located on an island in the middle of the lake. Kids enjoy feeding the fish and birds while parents soak in the Himalayan reflections on the water.

Next, we visit Devi’s Fall, a stunning waterfall, and then explore the mysterious Mahendra Cave, both popular family attractions. Later, we drive to the World Peace Pagoda, a beautiful Buddhist stupa located on a hilltop overlooking Pokhara Valley. The short hike to reach the pagoda is easy for families, and the panoramic views of the Annapurna Range, Phewa Lake, and Pokhara city are breathtaking. After sightseeing, we return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

This day is one of the highlights of the trip. After breakfast, we drive about 40 minutes to Kande and begin our hike to the Australian Base Camp. The hike is about 2 hours uphill, reaching an altitude of 2,050 meters (6,725 ft), which is safe for children and offers stunning views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Dhaulagiri.

At the base camp, we enjoy lunch and spend around 2 hours relaxing, taking family photos, and letting kids play in the open meadows. The short hike gives families a sense of trekking in Nepal without the challenges of long multi-day treks. After enjoying the scenery, we walk back down to the roadside and drive back to Pokhara for an overnight stay.

Early in the morning, we drive to Sarangkot, a famous hilltop viewpoint, to witness a magical sunrise over the Himalayas. The sight of the sun lighting up peaks like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre is unforgettable. If families prefer to skip this activity, it is optional since they already enjoyed mountain views from Australian Base Camp.

After breakfast, we transfer to Pokhara airport for a short 25-minute flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we transfer to the hotel. Depending on time, families may explore local markets, do last-minute sightseeing, or shop for souvenirs.

In the evening, we gather for a farewell dinner at a cultural restaurant, enjoying a Nepalese traditional dance show along with delicious cuisine. This final evening is perfect for sharing travel stories and celebrating family moments together. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye. Hotel checkout is at 12:00 pm, and we transfer you to the airport for your onward journey.
