The 6 days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a popular and relatively short trekking adventure in the Annapurna region of Nepal, offering stunning views of the Himalayas and cultural experiences along the way. Starting from Nayapul, the trek takes you through picturesque villages, terraced fields and lush rhododendron forests, culminating in a sunrise ascent to Poon Hill, one of the best vantage points in the region.

One of the main highlights of this trek is the panoramic view of the sunrise over the snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, including iconic peaks like Annapurna South, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Dhaulagiri. The trekking route passes through traditional Gurung and Magar villages, allowing trekkers to experience the rich culture and hospitality of the local communities in the Annapurna Region. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to interact with villagers, visit ancient monasteries, and learn about their way of life.

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is suitable for trekkers of all levels, with moderate difficulty. The highest point of the trek is Poon Hill, which sits at an altitude of 3,210 meters (10,531 feet). While the trek involves uphill climbs and steep staircases, it is achievable for beginners and experienced trekkers. Proper gear and equipment are essential for a successful trek. This includes sturdy hiking boots, warm clothing, a sleeping bag, and a backpack. It's also advisable to carry important items such as sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and a water bottle.

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is more accessible than the Annapurna Circuit Trek and Everest Base Camp Trek due to its lower altitude of 3,210 meters (10,531 feet) and shorter duration of 4 to 6 days. The well-marked trails and less challenging terrain make it more accessible for beginners, providing stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges without the strenuous demands of higher-altitude treks.

The best time to embark on the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons when the weather is mild and the skies are clear. During these months, the views are stunning, and the trails are at their most beautiful.
