The Tsho Rolpa Lake Trek offers a unique and less-explored journey through the Rolwaling region of Nepal, leading trekkers to the largest glacial lake in the country, Tsho Rolpa. Despite it being close to the popular Everest region, Tsho Rolpa remains unexplored. The adventure begins in Dolakha, near Charikot, providing a picturesque trail along the Tama Koshi and Rolwaling rivers. Throughout the trek, the majestic Gaurishankar Himal (7134m) graces the panorama. The best part is Tsho Rolpa Lake, which is hidden in the hills and has a strange view and a peaceful atmosphere.
The trek not only shows off the natural beauty of waterfalls, rivers, and fields, but it also gives you a taste of the area’s rich culture mix. As the trail gets closer to the border with Tibet, the Buddhist impact becomes clear. The towns of Chhetchhet and Beding give you a better look at Sherpa society. The trail goes through thick woods, cute villages, and famous sites, such as Bigu Gompa, which is home to more than 300 nuns. The frozen Tsho Rolpa Lake adds a magical touch to the trip.

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, our representative will warmly welcome you. Once you have completed the necessary customs procedures, including obtaining your visa, you can collect your luggage and easily spot our representative holding the Real Adventure Nepal display board at the arrival gate. From there, we will arrange for your comfortable transfer to your hotel, conveniently located near Thamel, catering to your specific preferences. Thamel itself offers a delightful array of international cuisine, an abundance of shopping opportunities, and the captivating Durbar Square, adorned with numerous temples and bustling markets, all within close proximity to Thamel.
Our office representative is available to assist you in arranging a meeting with your trekking guide. The guide will provide you with a detailed briefing about the upcoming trek, ensuring that you are well-prepared. Additionally, our team will be there to support you in purchasing any necessary trekking gears to enhance your experience.
Today, at the break of dawn, we said our goodbyes to the lively streets of Kathmandu city and commenced our journey towards Chetchet, a destination situated 188 kilometers away from Kathmandu. Anticipated to last approximately 6-7 hours, this expedition marks the beginning of our thrilling trek to 'Tsho-rolpa Lake', with Chetchet serving as the gateway and starting point. Once we arrive in Chetchet, we will allocate some time to stretch our bodies before embarking on today's hike to Simigaon. This particular hike entails a 1-hour ascent, and we will be spending the night in Simigaon.
Following a delightful and serene night spent in Simigaon, we will embark on our day's hike after a satisfying breakfast. Our destination for the day is Dongong, which is situated at an elevation of 2790 meters. The estimated duration of the hike is approximately 6 hours, and the trail presents a moderate level of difficulty with gentle inclines and declines. Along the way, we will come across charming tea houses where we can pause for a rest and relish the picturesque views while sipping on some tea. The trail runs parallel to the Rolwaling River, and we will cross several bridges during our journey. This trek will guide us through verdant Rhododendron forests and stunning Alpine landscapes. Upon completing our 6-7 hours of hiking, we will reach Dongong where we will spend the night.
Our day begins with a hearty breakfast, followed by an exciting hike from Dongong to Beding, situated at an impressive elevation of 3690 meters. This leg of our journey is estimated to take approximately 6 hours, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the breathtaking surroundings. As we traverse the trail today, we will encounter numerous enchanting waterfalls, adding to the allure of our adventure. Along the way, a remarkable sight awaits us - the majestic peak of Gaurishankar, towering at an impressive height of 7,134 meters, graces our view. Our path also leads us to a sacred temple, where locals hold the belief that cows give birth to gods. It is customary for villagers to seek blessings from Lord Shiva at this holy site before embarking on their own journeys. Finally, after several hours of invigorating hiking, we arrive at our destination, Beding, where we will find respite for the night.
Today marks the day when we embark on our journey to Na villages situated at an impressive elevation of 4200m. Anticipate duration of approximately 3 hours to reach our destination.

As the sun rises, we indulge in a hearty breakfast before commencing our hike towards Tsho Rolpa Lake. Initially, the trail presents itself as a gentle path, devoid of significant inclines or declines. However, as we draw closer to the lake, the terrain becomes more arduous, with steep sections that demand greater effort. Overcoming this challenging stretch, we eventually arrive at Tsho Rolpa Lake, the ultimate goal of our trek. After taking a few moments to absorb the beauty of the lake, we retrace our steps back to Na, where we will spend the night.
As we bid farewell to this magnificent trek, our return journey commences. Following a delightful breakfast, we shall embark on a 6-hour expedition back to Dongong. Retracing our footsteps along the familiar path we traversed earlier, the trail should prove less challenging as we are well-acquainted with its inclines, allowing us to conserve our energy. Finally, after approximately 6 hours of hiking, we will arrive at our destination, Dongong.
Today, we will be making our way back to Kathmandu. Our plan for the day includes a challenging hike up to Chetchet, which is estimated to last approximately 5 hours. Once we reach Chetchet, we will then proceed with a drive back to Kathmandu. To make the most of our day, we will start our final trek early in the morning, right after enjoying a satisfying breakfast. Following the same trail we took on our ascent, we will retrace our steps towards Chetchet. Upon arrival, we will take a brief rest before commencing our drive towards Kathmandu. The distance we need to cover is 188 kilometers, and we expect the drive to take around 6-7 hours.
On your final day in Nepal, a truly remarkable country filled with the wonders of the Himalayas, you will bid farewell to this enchanting land. Depending on your flight schedule, our dedicated staff will escort you from your hotel to the airport, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free departure. Reflecting on the incredible memories and experiences gained during your Nepal trip, this last day marks the end of an unforgettable adventure.
